In the thick of it

Some days, it feels like we’re drowning. Sick kids, endless laundry, crying fits, and that gnawing sense that there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. You check on them again, wipe noses, soothe fears, and then… repeat.

In the thick of it, every hour can feel like a lifetime. You wonder if this stage will ever end, if you’ll ever catch a break, if you’re doing enough. And yet, somehow, you keep going. You survive on love, stubbornness, and a little help from coffee (or wine — we won’t judge).

It’s exhausting. It’s messy. It’s lonely at times. And yet, there are these tiny moments — a soft giggle in the middle of tears, a sleepy hug that melts your heart, a shared laugh when you both know the chaos is real. Those moments remind you why it’s worth it.

Even when it feels endless, even when you feel like you’re drowning, you’re not. You’re here. You’re present. And you’re doing it — one messy, exhausting, beautiful day at a time.

To all the parents in the thick of it today: you’re not alone, and you’re doing better than you think.
